Brent's 2006 in a page...or so.

This is actually proving a little more difficult than I had originally thought. 2006 in a page or so. I have re-written it a couple of times now and I think an abbreviated, dot point summary might be the way forward rather than the full blown essay. Have a read while the photos below load.

Strange as it may seem 2006 finished much the same as it started for me...with NYE fireworks on Sydney Harbour. It's the in-between that has been such a fantastic ride.

In summary, places I have visited:

Bath, Deal, Dover, Amsterdam, Eindhoven, Prague, Ibiza, Edinburgh, Canada (Sudbury, Toronto, Ottawa & Niagara Falls), The USA (Boston, Maine, Portland, Bar Harbour, Bangor, Cape Cod, New York, Chicago, St Louis, Tulsa, Albuquerque, Sedona, Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, Yosemite, Death Valley, San Francisco & Los Angeles) and a few more places in between

I have seen:

Depeche Mode at Wembley Arena & Hyde Park

The Cure at Royal Albert Hall

Fat Freddy's Drop at Brixton Academy

Blue Man Group at Covent Garden

Paul Van Dyke in Prague

I have been to:

Edinburgh Fringe Festival

Passpop Festival in the Netherlands

Isle of Wight festival in the UK

O2 Wireless festival in Hyde Park (London)

Dance Valley in Amsterdam

Screening of MTV in Leicester Sq (London)

A few things that I did during 2006 were; watch the London Marathon, went Ape in the trees, got scared on a Ghost, Gaslight and Guinness walk, drove a Hummer and a Corvette, flew over the Grand Canyon in a helicopter, took a sea plane over Rangely Lakes, drove a 4x4 Jeep through Death Valley and Yosemite, drove a Chevy Malibu though a tornado, moved house from London to Sydney with only one breakage, saw a baseball game in Canada, went fishing off rocks/beach/rivers/canoe, saw a moose whilst canoeing, went windsurfing in Ibiza, biking on Venice beach, bought a t-shirt on Rodeo drive, had clam chowder at fisherman wharf, visited Alcatraz, walked over the Brooklyn Bridge. traded on Wall St, sang in the Scottish Highlands, saw George Bush, had goulash in Prague, laughed at the Goodies live, went through Brunel's tunnel, danced in China Town for Chinese New Year, shot some clay pigeons, visited the Imperial War Museum, saw a play at the National Theatre, discovered the underground Shunt bar, went to two weddings and watched a West Ham win their opening season game from the members section - after pie and mash of course.

Our London farewell party was awesome, thanks everyone who came along, what a send off! We have settled back into Sydney life pretty well, with a more Australian adventures planned for this year! Of course we will keep you posted!
